QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A college degree in journalism or related discipline, completion of at least one internship in a broadcast television newsroom preferred. Ability to use, transport and lift video camera equipment and tripod (approx.  55 lbs.).  Proficient at shooting and editing under extreme deadline pressure.  Microwave ENG van experience is a real plus.  Outstanding interpersonal skills; a team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shooting, editing and helping present stories for multiple content distribution platforms, including KEZI 9 News, kezi.com, Facebook, Twitter, KEZI 9 News Mobile, MeTV and other stations in the broadcast group. Creatively editing packages, voiceovers and voiceover/sots, effectively using pictures and natural sound to tell a story, with strong audio/video linkage.  Operating microwave ENG van and stinger.

Master Control / Technical Media Producer (TMP)

The TMP is responsible for directing live or pre-recorded productions as assigned, monitoring on-air streams, and FCC logs, & ingesting daily programming & commercials.

DESCRIPTION:     The TMP is responsible for directing live or pre-recorded productions as assigned, monitoring on-air streams, and FCC logs, & ingesting daily programming & commercials.  Regular assignments will involve editing video for newscasts, directing miscellaneous station productions & various elements for the web channel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:    Operation of Ross Overdrive automation (including robotic cameras, audio console, & production video switcher), Harris automation, graphics, Adobe Photoshop & all supporting equipment in Production/Master Control; including ability to effectively perform at the following:  commercial/promo ingesting, satellite operation, program ingesting/segmenting, & a working knowledge of web production.  Operation of Edius editing software, and studio teleprompter. Daily care & maintenance of equipment & studio.  Work closely with all departments to meet daily demands.  Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:   Master Control and production assistant experience.  Experience with production automation system like Ross Overdrive, great communication & people skills, ability to multitask under time sensitive deadlines, strong technical & computer skills, flexibility with scheduling & job assignments, understanding of FCC program logs & all FCC broadcast regulations.  Willingness to learn new hardware and software.
