KQTV, the ABC affiliate in St. Joseph, MO, is looking to add a member to our award-winning creative services team. If you have strong editing skills, a creative mind, and an eye for appealing visuals you might be a perfect fit. This position requires hands on knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite; including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and advanced experience with video and graphics editing. Someone with an understanding and experience with video and DSLR cameras, audio recording, and lighting. We are looking for a team member to take a project from concept to completion. If you’re someone who is detail oriented and can take an idea and create compelling commercials that work for our clients, this is the job for you.

Daily skills needed are: Editing, digital and DSLR camera operation, audio recording, lighting, video and graphics editing with Adobe Creative Suite, script writing, excellent time management and an unshakeable work ethic. A college degree in Telecommunications, Digital Media, Marketing or Broadcasting is a plus.

Sales Assistant/Traffic Clerk

KQTV and are looking for a full time Sales Assistant/Traffic Clerk. Our office is located at 4000 Faraon in St. Joseph MO. We offer an excellent benefits package, business casual dress, and a fun place to work. 

In this role you would be responsible for coordinating with traffic manager for; traffic instructions, managing logs, co-op scripts, facilitate production orders, basic clerical administration and supportive business development duties that sustain the efforts of the Sales Managers and Account Executives.

Other duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Perform all general office administrative duties including, but not limited to: answering the phone/reception and directing callers as needed; ordering and maintaining office and marketing material supplies and forms.
  • Provide administrative support to the Sales Manager and Account Executives in documenting sales activities and results, and as required, generate reports from traffic management system.   
  • Generate sales documents and presentation materials.
  • Contact clients regarding copy and delinquencies.
  • Assist Sales Managers with meeting coordination, and other logistics.   

QUALIFICATIONS-The following qualifications are preferred in order to successfully perform in this position, but are not limited to:

  1. High school or equivalent degree required and one to two years of prior experience in office environment preferred.
  2. High level of computer skills. 
  3. Strong organizational, written communication and verbal communication skills required.
  4. Good skills in end-user computer software applications e.g. word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and basic design.
  5. Experience using office equipment including, but not limited to: computer, fax, telephone, copier, and scanner.
  6. Sales background is a plus.
  7. High level of initiative and ability to prioritize workload.
  8. Attention to detail and error-free work in a deadline-driven environment.
  9. Substantial level of independence and accountability for assigned projects.

MMJ/Anchor - News

 KQTV is looking for a full-time MMJ/ANCHOR to join our news team. The ideal candidate will want to tell the lead story each night on TV and on our digital platforms. You will be responsible for developing and producing news stories by investigating, interviewing, shooting, writing, editing, producing and reporting on a daily basis.

 The person who fills this position must be able to enterprise story ideas, develop contacts, understand how to dig for news, and share news on our social media platforms.


 Exercise strong professional news judgement, gathers information, conducts interviews, shoots video, produces and reports assigned stories daily

  • Primarily work as a one-man band to report, shoot and edit stories
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of field cameras, gear and editing systems
  • Must possess strong writing skills. Must be knowledgeable in broadcast and AP writing styles. Stories must be accurate, fair and balanced.
  • Pitch original story ideas and participate in editorial meetings
  • Cover breaking news with a sense of urgency.
  • Must be willing to work holidays, weekends and overnight hours when needed
  • Produce content for digital media platforms
